Version 2.6 includes support for NFS Shift cars and tracks. There is a new option to render using OpenGL Fragment Programs for those video drivers that do not support OpenGL GLSL, (which includes many netbooks and notebooks).
On top of that, there's a new Edit->Paste Vertices command; more texture channel editing; a Material Report function; import of V8 SuperStars models; and a number of other enhancements and bug fixes.

There's also a new Demo version with a fresh 30 day period even if you have had an earlier demo.

Full details, a patch to update existing users to 2.6, and the new Demo are at http://www.sim-garage.co.uk

Cheers!

Right, I noticed this on the Okayama track, 3DSimED 2.5 lose values for the last map of the multi-textured materials... I don't know if it's happens on other tracks...

This is going to be a difficult fix because it would appear that at some tracks in Race On the material parameters have been set to incorrect values. Okayama in Race On has many 'mistakes' but Road America does not. Whatever the reason, I will put together a fix for the next version.

Cheers!

Some are reporting stablility issues with 2.6.

This is so important to sort out that I have moved some posts from this thread to http://thepits.us/board/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=15305. Hopefully, this will help in getting some clarity on the issue.

Cheers!

Dave when I try to import a V8 Superstars .bin file the program crashes and close on me. It happens right after I have selected the .bin file and clicked on the "open" button. I am running Vista 32bit, 4GB RAM and Nvidia 9600 GT.

I've just re-checked and there seems to be no problem here (also Vista 32bit).
Just to be sure do you get any result with Tracks\Tracks\Adria\Adria.bin ??.

Cheers!

Dave

Sorry Dave was my fault. I had a bad bin file that I copied - worked fine last night. Thanks for adding the V8 Superstars support.

One question though. Why is it that the road surface is not there sometimes on an import? It is just a gap between the grass.

Hi,

I have not done lots of testing yet but it's works fine for me, I mean I haven't encounter OpenGL issues (win xp sp3 fr on a Acer 8390 laptop with nvidia 9600 MGT). New material report feature looks good, thanks for it.
The only issue I found is about opening 3DSimED by double clicking on an object, 3DSimED is launched but there is a system error (file not found), further drag and drop or double click works as expected.

Regards.

The code cannot determine the transparency of the materials so, to be safe, the Transparency Blend is set to 'Auto'. For materials such as road surfaces you will have to set them to 'None' by hand.

Cheers!

sk08 is not supported but the files formats extracted with the luigi auriema tool remain the same ,.bin, same "problem" with the motogp tracks who is a .bin file too

possible to add this others game to the 3d simed supported game ??
