Hi Dave,
can you please help me to understanding what I do wrong?

Here is the procedure I follow:
1. plugin export rF2 gmt to dae
2. import into Blender, edit, etc...
3. export to dae
4. plugin import to export like object to rF2, to import it again like gmt

All materials maintain their original names, but to each one I find the "-material" word added. (i.e. body_car-material, instead of body_car).

This is a little bit annoying because I must manually clean each material. In addition, if I need to copy all and past shaders from the original gmt, I can do it only after I've cleaned the new file, deleting "-material" for each entry, saving and re-importing it.

Thank you.
Marco

And when you import the .DAE "-material" should be removed, and it seems to be working for me.

BTW, the "-material" is added to make sure there is no name clash with objects or materials, the specification of Collada requires the name of every resource to be unique.

Cheers!

Evidently I make some mistake, but I have no idea of which one, because I never seen a file (following what I wrote) coming back without "-material".

Not a big problem, don't spend too much time on it, but when you have time, please let me know what test I can do. Thanks!

Blender must be using the ID as the name because it's the ID that has the suffix added not the material name as you can prove by looking at the .DAE in a text editor.

Cheers
