I apologize up front for asking this question because I have done this before and can't remember how I did it. If this has been explained elsewhere, I couldn't find it with my search parameters. Please direct me to the link should there be an explanation.

Premise: When converting older tracks to AC, the track mesh has triangles with low ploy count which makes for a bumpy track in AC. So I convert the triangles to quads in MAX and add polys for a smooth track.

It is much easier if I could extract the track mesh only because I can select all, convert triangles to quads, then add polys and be done in 5 minutes, rather than section-by-section with the entire track and all objects.

Question: I need a refresher on how to extract the track mesh only to fbx.

Cheers!

I figured it out. Thanks for your help.

About 99% of the tracks have broken nodes and triangulated when converted (as well as objects), therefore, at least in AC, you get bumpy tracks. It's easier to have the track separated out to work on.

Cheers!
