My biggest problems with IROC were always the small fields, the short schedule, the lack of diversity in the driver lineup, and the lack of international races. I've decided to bring back the concept of IROC in a wholly new way with the IROC XXXI carset/minimod for 2010. This will come in two versions: one is a carset for the PWF IROC mod, the other is a self-contained version of the PWF mod with cup physics(i like the higher speeds, personally)
The cars are pontiac trans ams, for two reasons: i don't have a template for any other car, and I felt like giving pontiac one last hurrah before we all completely forget it ever existed
if i decide to make an XXXII carset, it'll be using the mustang, and it'll probably be a simple carset for the upcoming nationwide mod
50 drivers are included, so if there are drivers you don't like, you can take them out and race your heroes, or race against the guys that you wouldn't expect in an asphalt oval based series.
I have given the drivers realistic(though obviously fictional as it's all speculation) ratings, based on their personality, their performance, and the racing series they are from: F1 drivers will be good at road courses and short tracks, IndyCar drivers and NASCAR drivers will be good all around. Endurance racers are patient whereas Busch, Turkington and Kobayashi are highly aggressive. I also have a few surprises based on how I feel the different drivers will do in such a series: you'll find James Stewart, Kamui Kobayashi and J.R. Hildebrand competitive on most tracks. I also have a few drivers given randomly good or bad ratings: Hornaday will not be very competitive except on the speedways, even though I like the guy, and Imamura is surprisingly good on the intermediate tracks. Finally, the more aggressive drivers have been rated higher as such a style will serve them well in short IROC races: Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch and Ken Block are rewarded in this respect.

Drivers for the series were taken from the following series based on 2009 performance:
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
NASCAR Nationwide Series
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
NASCAR Camping World East/West Series
British Touring Car Championship
V8 Supercar Series
Rolex Sports Car Series
Formula One World Championship
GP2 Europe
GP2 Asia
IndyCar Series
Firestone Indy Lights
Dakar Rally
American Le Mans Series
24 Heures Du Mans
Le Mans Series
D1GP

the driver lineup is as follows after a long decision process, in the order i have them written down(read: partly random, partly based on series):
Valentino Rossi
Travis Pastrana
Sebastien Loeb
Joey Logano
Kyle Busch
Tony Stewart
Mark Martin
Matt Kenseth
David Reutimann
Jimmmie Johnson
Jamie Whincup
Jon Fogarty
Alex Gurney
Nico Hulkenberg
Dario Franchitti
Helio Castroneves
Rubens Barrichello
Jensen Button
Marc Coma
Giniel De Villiers
David Brabham
Marc Gene
Alexander Wurz
Donny Schatz
Steve David
Paul Bonhomme
James Stewart
Ron Hornaday
Tomas Enge
Youichi Imamura
Ken Block
Andrew Ranger
Ryan Truex

Ryan Newman
Brian Vickers
Colin Turkington
Scott Sharp
Adrian Fernandez
J.R. Hildebrand
Kamui Kobayashi
Ryan Briscoe
Scott Dixon
Danica Patrick
Sebastien Vettel

Lewis Hamilton

the drivers compete in cars with their real world numbers, or if those are unavailable, other car numbers that they have a personal connection to. The cars are painted the color of their normal rides, and all cars carry Lucas Oil branding. A test car has also been included.

it's a bit novice, but hey, i made it in about a week for personal use...i figured since i've been mooching off the sim community for 12 years, I may as well contribute something. at any rate, it should be good for several hours' distraction before it gets tossed out.

ok. that works. the only think i dont like is the cars and the lettering on them. i think that it an ugly typeface suitable only for the old west (and IBM). I'd also think the names should be diagonal and not straight.
