Hello again, it's been a while since I posted my last track
http://www.thepits.us/board/viewtopic.p ... t=presidio

Same situation here, this is a track made in sandbox mainly for my own amusement, so it's functional but definitely beta.

The layout is real roads to the west of the city of Sheffield, UK.

Its been sitting around on my C drive for a while so I thought I'd put it out there.

It's a circuit from Ringinglow to Hathersage and back in the Peak park.

Thanks for sharing.

Would have loved to drive on that track, but it wont load for me.

Perhaps I got a bad DL or its because I'm on a Mac.

Anybody else having this problem?

Well it seems it's a Mac problem, did not load for me too when I first tried... I've removed all the lp files from the folder and it loads now. So I can appreciate the work in there, it's amazing! But with the ai stuck in the middle of such a narrow track (because without the lps) it's not as fun as it could be! I just wish there was a way to make lp on Mac too! There are less than 10 tracks not working on Mac because of this but it's frustrating!
Anyway, congrats, it's a very nice track, probably lots of work!
Edit: Ashley, the zip file is 17Mo, no way to send that by mail. Can't you get it from Rapidshare?

[sigh] Yet another set of hoops to jump through to DL a file from Rapidshare,
and then I a corrupted, 1 kb size zip file. [bah...] :roll:

Thanks Alex, I had forgotten about this fix... the track layout is very nice and I can now enjoy it.
To make it more raceable with the AI without the lp's, I made a few changes in the track.ini which reduces the number of AI accidents during pacing, stagger the cars while racing (follow less like a train) and makes passing a little easier.

I increased each of the following values:
ai_pacing_distance = 1.8 ; car lengths behind while pacing
ai_bunching_distance = 1.2 ; car lengths behind while bunching for start
ai_drafting_distance = 1.8 ; car lengths behind while racing

Thanks. I just have a pet peeve when it comes to download servers who
make it more complicated than it needs to be, and try to "tempt" you into
pay-for-downloads schemes; taking nothing away from the track itself.

Well after a few laps (none of which I completed after becoming One with
the scenery), all I can say is WoW! Very flowing and rolling. More of a
rally stage than a race track tho-too narrow for AI to pass; if I made it I
would make it wider for playability. Only other issue is the "swimming"
horizon which you sometimes get-something to do with the elevations IIRC,
and more of a limitation of NR2003 than anything else.

Note to Steve over at SRC: this is actually a shade over 12 miles long, not 7
(checked length in Sandbox).

Think its good on here, u shud try libving bout 5 miles from that road layout, the scenery is absolutely amazing, one bafd bit though is that wen u go down a long straight and then turn sharpe right where there is a patch of concrete on the inside, there shud b a pub there but it really is an amzing track.
