1.03 patch by Ratbag/WizardWorks (802 KB). It fixes a problem with the mouse cursor not appearing on geForce video cards, and other small changes and fixes. This patch must be applied on top of the 1.02d patch listed below.

DTR Demo by Ragbag/WizardWorks (9 MB). Highly recommended since it is very close to the release version.
Setup Utility 2.0 by the Masked Chicken (download link on left side of his DTR page). This is a neat utility that imports and exports individual setups, although you now have to give your email address to download it.
Offline Recorder Package by the Masked Chicken (download link on left side of his DTR page). Helps verify offline DTR competitions, although you now have to give your email address to download it.
Money Cheat by John Bodin (393 KB). Increases the various race payouts so progression through the ranks is faster.
Sponsors Utility by Bill Anderson (89 KB). Creates an alternate set of sponsors with no ugly sponsor decals to cover your custom painted cars. It also includes a money cheat so you can move up to a Pro Stock or Late Model very quickly.
Decal Sheet v2 by Kevin Hodge (270 KB).
A number of tracks are available in the Utilities section of Blackhole Motorsports.
If you are looking for car sets/skins, please see the Links section for some fine sites.
These setups are for the late model cars, not the stock or pro stock cars.
Track-specific setups can be found at various web sites (probably the most are at DTR Player's Guide), but since many of the tracks are very similar, these two generic setups work well at all tracks and can be used as good base setups -- a starting point for the final refinement needed to shave the last few hundreths off your times.
Short Track Setup by The Pits (in "xxx.set" format -- Setup Utility required for importing). For tracks that are less than one-half mile.
Medium/Long Track Setup by The Pits (in "xxx.set" format -- Setup Utility required for importing). For tracks that are one-half mile or longer.Alternatively, both these setups are available in a "setups.sav" file, which can be dropped into the "data/saved games" directory -- no special utility is required, but it will replace your existing setups, so back up your old "setups.sav" file if you want to keep them.
Setup Quick Reference by The Pits. This is a one-page guide that summarizes the various setup options and the effect on car handling if the option is increased or decreased. Very helpful.
Setup Worksheet by The Pits. You can use this useful sheet (MS doc format) for recording setup changes, lap times, and track conditions as you test your car.
The tips are categorized into helpful tips and fun tips.
- If you are having technical problems or have questions about multiplayer DTR, be sure to take a look at Ratbag's FAQ.
- Just because the AI is a bit aggressive in the single-player game, intentionally hitting another car in multiplayer is not acceptable. Just as with any other serious simulation, hold your racing line, don't use other cars as guard rails, and drive within your limits.
- When racing multiplayer, use your initials as your name (or use a short name). That way, when the name labels are shown above the cars, it doesn't clutter the view.
- If you want to practice with no AI cars on the track, just go to Multiplayer, set up a race, and start it. You have the track all to yourself.
- If you find yourself out of a race early (black flagged), don't forget you can check out the racing action as a spectator by hitting the "Watch" button in the Chatroom. From there, hit the mouse buttons to cycle the view, and hit Tab to cycle through the cars and the "free camera mode." In this mode, use the mouse to orient your view and the left/right mouse buttons to accelerate and decelerate. It's actually very cool to check out the race from a blimp view or the view from the stands -- and it sure beats waiting in the game Chatroom for the race to finish.
