THE PITS RACING TEAM
The Pits Racing Team is the NASS96 Multi-player (Hawaii) Racing Team comprised of Jan Kohl and Ujjal Bansel. You have to watch for this team, as both drivers have considerable experience with racing Papyrus' NASCAR Racing simulator. Both have chalked up wins on Papyrus' Multiplayer service against some of the best drivers the U.S. has to offer.
This team races with the NASS96 racing league. All the drivers
log onto Hawaii every week, with a predetermined schedule of tracks,
and hit it hard and heavy! Competition is fierce, but most drivers are
very good, and all attempt to finish the race in one piece.
Jan drives The Pits sponsored Ford Thunderbird,
and Ujj drives the Kraft Macaroni sponsored Thunderbird.

Pits Racing's record in the Thunder96 series...here's the score..

Michigan | 4 | 2 |
Atlanta | 12 | 5 |

Pits Racing moved up at the beginning of the season to the premier
series on the league, NASS96. These are the top notch drivers that race
on this league, and the races are very competitive. So far, here's the
score...
July 10- Daytona Firecracker 300 (Talladega- 112 laps)
Jan and Ujj were both moving up through the field, when a massive
multicar pileup happened coming out of turn 4. Both of the team
cars were involved, and Jan came in in 9th place, Ujj 18th.
July 17- Loudon 150 (Loudon- 150 laps)
Louden was another mayhem filled race, and both team cars were
taken out again, in the same accident, again. Neither drivers
was the cause of the accident, and neither were able to continue.
Jan was in 17th place, Ujj 18th.
July 24- Pocono 200 (Pocono- 80 laps)
Both team cars started out back in the pack, but Jan dropped
out after blowing his engine going through turn 2. He came in
in 15th position. Ujj moved up through the field, and finally
got a 2nd, .1 seconds back from the leader at the checkered flag!
July 31- Talladega 250 (Talladega- 94 laps)
Bad luck continued for the team cars...Jan won a practice race
prior to the main event, but got kicked off by the Hawaii server
after only 7 laps for his 4th DNF. Ujj finally ended up 9th, a
lap down, after getting contact by another car.
Aug 7- Atlanta 200 (Atlanta- 131 laps)
More bad luck. Ujj wasn't able to make the race, so he took a
provisional. Jan qualified back in the field again, and was
hit on the first lap of the race by another car. He continued
with much damage and finally bowed out in 15th place.
Aug 14- Watkins Glen 100 (Watkins Glen- 41 laps)
Jan finally got to finish a race, but Ujj got kicked off by
the server and didn't even get to start. He finished in 20th
place. Jan qualified in 10th. He had a good car, and was
moving up through the field, but came into the inner loop too
hot and slid. That lost him some positions, and then he made
one more mistake and didn't take on enough fuel during his pit
stop. He had to pit again, but finished the race in 11th, so
didn't have too many complaints.
Aug 21- Michigan 200 (Michigan- 100 laps) Jan and Ujj didn't
have any luck again, as Jan got punted by another car on the
first lap, and Ujj met the same fate 5 laps later. Jan made
20th, Ujj made 19th.
Aug 28- Volunteer 200 (Bristol- 200 laps) Talk about REAL bad
luck...Jan and Ujj both had good cars and were moving up the
field. Jan was leading at one point of the race, then pitted
on a caution a few laps later. A lapped car got into him
and tore his car up, putting him several laps down. In a
later incident, Jan's car got turned sideways, then the tire
blew. He tried to get moving again, but the blown tire sent
him up the track...right in the path of the leader, his teammate,
Ujj! Both cars were destroyed in the accident. Ujj made 10th,
Jan made 12th.
Sept 4- Southern 200 (Darlington- 146 laps)
Darlington was another place with a mixed bag...Ujj did well, finishing 2nd after a wild final lap between him and the winner, where they both banged pretty hard a few times. Jan again got
caught up in an incident, but managed to finish the race in 12th.
Sept 11- Capital City 200 (Richmond- 200 laps) A bit better
luck this week. Jan's car was very loose on the start, and
he went a lap down before he could get it fixed. Ujj was
running well, and finally finished 5th, one lap down. Jan
finished 9th.
Sept 18- Delaware 200 (Dover- 200 laps) Back to the same ole'
grind. Ujj finished 12th, 9 laps down. Jan got into the wall
early, then a car punted him in turn 3, causing another DNF.
He finished 15th.
Sept 25- Old Dominion 200 (Martinsville- 200 laps) More bad
luck. Both cars were running well, and were making time. Jan
then got spun by another car, and went down 2 laps. Ujj was
doing well until he got punted as well. However, both cars
managed to finish the race, Jan in 9th, Ujj in 15th.
Oct 2- Wilkes 200 North (Wilkesboro- 200 laps) And yes...you guessed it...more bad luck. Jan was running in 8th, and then was passing a car when the car got into him and blew his tire.
He had to go to the pits and got 4 laps down. Then Ujj also got
caught in a crash, and took some major damage. Then, on a caution,
Jan was driving back to the stripe when several cars got into a crash
on the backstretch. Jan had nowhere to go, but piled into them,
destroying his car.
Oct 9- National 250 (Charlotte- 168 laps) Good race...
for a bit. Jan and Ujj were both moving up the field, when another driver passed Jan, then drove under Ujj's spoiler, getting him loose. Ujj spun, and Jan had nowhere to go again...smashing into the wall. Ujj luckily didn't contact anything, and continued on and finished 4th. Jan ended up back in 14th.
Oct 23- American 200 (Rockingham- 196 laps) Ujj did well in this race, ran smart, and found himself finishing 2nd, only .7 seconds back from the leader! Jan continued with his miserable season, getting stuffed into the wall on a first lap melee. He finished up 18th.
Oct 30- Phoenix 125 (Phoenix- 124 laps) Jan finally had a decent run, but still wasn't without some bad luck. Through smart driving and avoiding accidents, Jan was in 3rd place for much of the race. However, on a caution lap, another driver hit the pace car and came across the track and then hit Jan, damaging his car and putting him several laps down. He ended up 9th. Ujj got involved in a crash when a driver tried to make it three wide and caused a pileup. He finished the race in 16th position.
Nov 13- Dixie 250 (Atlanta- 164 laps) The team did well in what was probably the best racing of the entire season. Jan did well, until a final bout of bad luck, where he got caught with a yellow flag after making a green flag pit stop. He finished 14th. Ujj excelled, finishing in 5th place to move him up to 11th in the points.
