Online Shopping We do alot of our shopping at PriceWatch, as there you can find the best prices on the 'net for anything you may be looking for. However, here are a few notes that you need to know about online shopping...
First, check out the company that you plan to purchase with at Reseller Ratings. If you have any comments about your purchase (whether good or bad), insure that you report back to them so that they know to update their records for others.
Insure that you use a credit card, most card companies have a consumer protection policy which can get you out of poor quality products or lost or broken goods.
Insure that when using a credit card, that the company that you purchase with (if they have online ordering) has an encrypted site for your transaction purchases. You should see a small 'lock' symbol in the lower status bar of your browser...that should go to 'locked' when you are transmitting a transaction to an encrypted site. If you do NOT get a 'lock' symbol that is 'locked', do not order. Email the company and tell them why you are not ordering from them. If you order over the phone, of course, you do not need to worry about that.
Before placing an order, whether online or offline, it is a good idea to check out if items are in stock, how long it takes to ship, what return policy they may have, and if there are any satisfaction guarantees in place for the goods.
