  • Registration

    Oct 10th - Nov 3rd
Registration will take place between the dates above. Each car must must be registered with two drivers. Once registration has closed there are no changes to teams, drivers, cars or class allowed. Registrants must submit .car file, name of both drivers, the number of the car, email address for the team, and manufacturer of the car. They should also mention which driver will race in which race (drivers will each complete only one day in the overall event). Numbers are first come, first serve. Email David T. your signup information, post your .car file in the Bullrun 1000 mailing list and let him know. Please note that we have spots on the grid for 30 cars, and the grid will filled only with "full" teams submitting two drivers. You can still sign up with only one driver (and continue to look for your 2nd driver), but the 30 grid positions are actually only counted by teams with 2 drivers.

Drivers must also sign up for the Official Bullrun 1000 mailing list. It is mandantory because all discussion as well as official notices will be sent out on that list, and while rules will be here on the main Bullrun 1000 site, last minute notices pertaining to the races and race schedules will be sent out on the mailing list.

    Team Racing

The team drivers will compete in two separate races, with one driver competing in race 1, the other driver in race 2. Since this race is completely online, there will not be driver swaps, or segments...each driver will have to attempt to run the full distance of each race (85 laps both races). Each race should run approximately for 3 hours. A driver may be registered to drive in a different team car in both races so long as that driver is not racing in the same car for both days (one driver cannot drive for two different team cars in the same day, but can drive for one team one day and another team the second day). A team may not enter 2 cars for the event (i.e. where both drivers enter the event in 2 cars, and then swap to the other team car for the second day).

Side note to above rule: If both team drivers are in the same physical location, they CAN swap out during pitstops. That team will still need to state which driver will actually be starting the car, and both drivers may not drive another team car during the same race.

    Race Scoring

Note that one driver will drive the first race (day), the second driver will drive the second race (day), and the overall outcome of both driver's efforts counts towards the overall win.

Final race results will be scored by the following method:

  • total laps completed by both drivers
  • finishing order

Drivers must use their signup name when racing, as scoring the cars is made that much more difficult when drivers are using a nickname.

    Race Conduct

  • Two tires must remain on the track *racing surface* at all times. Mistakes will happen and cause you to go off track, but continual and/or intentional shortcuts are not allowed.
  • Intentional ramming, punting, or pushing other cars off-track are not allowed. Again, mistakes will happen, but if an incident is deemed to be intentional or just plain idiocy, that driver will recieve a 7 lap penalty per incident.
  • Drivers must signal clear intentions if they intend to enter the pits, exit the pits, or go off track in an incident and are rejoining the racing surface. Incidents caused by drivers not properly signalling their intent to rejoin the race could recieve a penalty.
  • If a driver's car becomes damaged beyond the point that they can safely make it back to the pits without causing problems for other drivers, they should hit the (ESC) key and call for a tow truck. Again, do NOT jeopardize other driver's races by pulling a stupid move.
  • Drivers who get disconnected may rejoin the race. Unfortunately, due to internet lag conditions, your connection is your own affair, races will not be restarted for drivers who drop, unless there is a massive failure that ejects most or all of the drivers (see below).

    The Races

  • This is a long race, so be prepared. It will be a total of about three hours, the only break that anyone gets is in the pits! Due to the length of the race and difficulty of the track, as well as wanting to keep as many drivers in as possible, the damage will be set to moderate. The settings for the races will be:
    simulation driving mode
    full pace lap
    no yellows
    moderate damage
    forced smoke
    realistic weather
    open setups
  • The second day's races will restart with no qualifying. A pace lap will be run behind the race administrator, and cars will shuffle to their starting positions based on the previous day's results, with the leading car from the day before starting in front, and everyone following in fashion. It will be a single-file restart.
  • IF there is a massive connection drop that ejects all the drivers from the server, the race will restarted, minus the laps completed. The restart will be behind the pace car. Cars that were laps down will have those laps assessed at the end of the day by comparing the two race saves.

    Be Prepared

Be prepared, do some testing to work out the team strategy. How many laps are we going to run between each pit stop? Don't leave any questions until the last minute. If you're not sure about anything post a message to the Official Bullrun 1000 mailing list.
